I live in beautiful Astoria, Oregon and have lived on the west coast of the United States for most of my life. After I graduated from high school, I was fortunate to be able to travel abroad and live in Cape Town, South Africa for two years. I received my undergraduate degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences in 2001 from Linfield College in McMinnville Oregon. I graduated from Capella University in 2013 with a master of science in Human Services and a specialization in Mental Health Counseling. After earning my graduate degree, I spent three years volunteering as a court-appointed special advocate (CASA) for children in the foster care system. I am a nationally certified counselor and have been in private practice for two years. I am a mental health counselor associate in Washington state and an LPC intern in Oregon.
DBT is a highly effective treatment modality for a wide range of issues including those that I treat. I work with clients that need help with regulating their emotions, and overcoming negative and debilitating stress. I also counsel clients within the realm of becoming effective in personal interactions with others.
Listening to your concerns, together we can collaborate on an individualized treatment plan. I can help you empower yourself to regain emotional control in challenging life experiences so that you can go on to be the best version of yourself.
